29LT MASSIRA: An Inspirational Type Project
29LT Massira is a simplified and spontaneous handwriting set of fonts based on the casual Ruqaa calligraphic style. Its name refers to a march, a journey walked by a group of people for a cause. The type family does not have weights; however, it has different styles based on different writing tools used in demonstrations or urban graffiti. The four styles are: Pen, TippEx, Lipstick, and Spray. Arabic ligatures were added to provide fluidity and to mimic the spontaneity of Arabic handwriting.
WHY IT IS A TOP PICK
The fluent and smooth curves of Massira Pen make it suitable to give a vibrant punch to publications like comics, whereas the rough and grungy feel of Spray, Lipstick and TippEx styles makes them appropriate to add an urban or revolutionary edge to unconventional projects.
